The three of them were easily able to find their way out of the cave by going back the same way they entered, and returning to the wilderness of the Endless Nightmare.

But Christian had previously warned Jamie that there was a time shift inside the cave. They were only inside for half an hour; but outside, ten whole hours had passed. As the trio walked away from the cave, they suddenly felt their bodies become drowsy.

Jamie felt this change the most; as usual, he was not used to these kinds of changes like Christian and Anthony were.

“What’s happening to me Christian?” Jamie asked.

“Do you remember what I said about the time shift?” Christian asked him back.

“Vaguely.”

“For every three minutes we spend in that cave, an hour passes outside. We spent half an hour in there.”

“That’s…that’s ten hours!”

“We know.” Anthony said. “But there’s no rest for the weary just yet. We still have to go a mile to get back to the house.”

“I hope none of The Shadow’s minions apprehend us while we’re walking back in this condition.”

“I hope so too.”

The three of them continued to walk through the Endless Nightmare. Time was rapidly running out to fend The Shadow, but so too was their energy. They had to get back to the house before they collapsed with exhaustion.
